At least no fewer than 1000 residents of Ozi community in Kogi Local government area have benefited from the NYSC Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers Scheme.
The one week free healthcare services was initiated by NYSC to impact positively on the rural communities in the country.
Kogi State governor, Captain Idris Wada has lauded the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers, HIRD, as an initiative designed to provide affordable and time health care intervention for large population of the country’s rural dwellers who lack access to basic medicare due to the locations.
Wada who gave the commendation while speaking at flag off of NYSC Health Initiative for Rural dwellers HIRD week at Ozi in Kogi Local government area of the state yesterday, stated that the programme is novel and worthwhile initiative conceived by the NYSC Director General, Brigadier Johnson Bamidele Olawunmi.
He explained that the initiative is in tandem with his administration transformation agenda in taking health delivery to the door steps of the rural dwellers in the state.
